On Saturday, March 30, President Trump announced his intention to end foreign assistance programs for Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador over their lack of cooperation and inaction regarding the thousands of illegal aliens attempting to enter to the U.S. illegally. The State Department said that “at the Secretary’s instruction, we are carrying out the President’s direction and ending FY 2017 and FY 2018 foreign assistance programs for the Northern Triangle,” a term that refers to the three countries.
Washington planned to send about $180 billion in foreign aid to the three Central American countries during the Fiscal year 2019 — $69 million for Guatemala, $66 million for Honduras and $45 million for El Salvador, according to the State Department.
Of course, the Democrats immediately called Trump’s action “reckless” and “counterproductive” in addressing the problems that cause people to flee to the U.S. The Democrats’ response is ironic and ridiculous since they have nothing to stop or even discourage the illegal immigration.
As I have mentioned many times before, if we’re ever going to stop and discourage illegal immigration, we must stop rewarding it, but sadly Fannie Mae (FNMA) is providing taxpayer-funded illegal alien mortgages. Illegal aliens are fugitives of the law, and Fannie Mae is allowing mortgages for them that are backed and “insured” by the American taxpayer.
Fannie Mae is a federal government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) that is a publicly traded company in the stock market. It was created in 1938 as part of the New Deal to expand the secondary mortgage market with federally insured mortgage loans.
The mortgage-backed securities (MBS) allows big lenders and mortgage bankers to reinvest their assets into more lending and thus increase the number of lenders in the mortgage market. As of 2018, Fannie Mae is ranked #21 on the Fortune 500 rankings of the largest United States corporations by total revenue.
The Border Patrol is being overwhelmed by a record number of Central American families and minors who are turning themselves in on their own and asking for asylum in the El Paso sector, which includes all of New Mexico, according to a news report in the March 17, Albuquerque Journal. A big “loophole” in the immigration system allows illegal aliens to be detained and then released, has thousands of illegal aliens using asylum claims to enter and stay in the U.S.
This legal loophole must be closed if the Border Wall is to be effective because under the current system illegal aliens are entering and claiming asylum at established entry points. These illegal alien asylum seekers are then detained, but because detention centers are overcrowded, they are released with a court appearance date and the majority never appear in court and disappear into American society.
Democrats and the liberal press call the surge in asylum seekers arriving on the border a “humanitarian crisis,” but it is a problem caused by legal loopholes and proper border security. The current immigration system is encouraging people to cross illegally, then rewarding with an indefinite stay in the U.S.
The second case of measles has been confirmed on Wednesday, March 20 in the San Antonio area according to the Metropolitan Health District. However, the local new media is following the example of the national media, and they are cautious about how and what they report.
The new case of measles in San Antonio is related to another one confirmed earlier this month that was tied to a “visitor” from the Philippines in Guadalupe County. However, the news media is being careful not to link foreign visitors or illegal aliens to the disease outbreaks such as mumps and chicken pox at ICE detention centers.
Few news reports have connected immigration (legal and illegal) and foreign visitors to disease outbreaks, or widely reported the cases at ICE detention centers. It appears the news media are more concerned with being politically correct than with writing complete reports.
On Saturday, March 9, 2019, two Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents were assaulted by illegal aliens from Honduras. The assault occurred while Border Patrol agents attempted to take the subject into custody.
One agent was seriously injured during the assault and is currently recovering at the hospital. Another agent suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Representatives from the National Border Patrol Council are currently assisting all agents involved in this incident, and the case has been referred to the FBI for further investigation.
This attack is the third incident of violence against Border Patrol agents in the past three weeks. In late February, Border Patrol agents were shot at from the Mexican side in Laredo, and another agent was shot at while in his vehicle El Paso.
The illegal aliens have become more emboldened thanks to the liberals and Democrats that excuse and reward them. This has made the border more dangerous for the men and women who protect it and the residents of the area.
Pray for our Border Patrol agents and our nation. We must protect our border, our citizens and our agents.
