The liberal Washington Post did its best to try to slant immigration law enforcement and portray an ICE raid in Ohio that occurred on Tuesday, June 5, in the worst light possible.
The Wednesday, June 6 headline banner claims the raid caused “utter chaos” because some of the illegal alien employees tried to escape. Guilty people usually try to run to avoid apprehension.
They have a picture of two ICE large agents leading a small illegal alien woman away in handcuffs. Sympathy for illegal immigration is an on-going theme in the liberal media, and portraying the illegal aliens as “victims” of law enforcement part of that narrative.
ICE raided a business that was illegally employing illegal aliens. The employer will face tax evasion charges, and the illegal aliens should be/will be deported.
Many businesses and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are upset about the crack down to punish businesses that employ illegal aliens. Businesses say the illegal aliens do the jobs “Americans won’t do.” However, welfare and unemployment benefits have become easier for Americans to be idle and not work in low skill jobs.
Along with the enforcement of laws against hiring illegal aliens, we should also revise welfare and unemployment benefits to encourage all able-bodied Americans to work. We should also let the free market in this country adjust wages accordingly without government interference.
Honest work good for the soul, and Americans should be given preference to work. On the other hand, work is a magnet for illegal aliens and should be stopped. We must not excuse or reward illegal immigration.
