Sunday, May 12 – Gunfire and a knife fight broke out at a North Side apartment complex near Sahara Drive and Desert Sands Drive. While police were investigating the shooting, a knife fight broke out, and a woman was cut. This incident is an example of two problems that are making crime and violence worse in San Antonio. Those two are the presence of foreigners who do not respect local police and the failure of the San Antonio Police Anti-Crime Plan.

Tuesday, May 14 – A teenage male was shot and hospitalized Tuesday night after a dispute over a vintage clothing sale on the Northwest Side near Culebra and 410. The seller of vintage wares survived the incident, but he was taken to a local hospital due to his injuries.

Police went to the address regarding a person smoking marijuana at the pool. However, the officers discovered a stolen vehicle and parked behind it while they went to check on the complaint. When the officers returned to the parking lot, a man entered the stolen car, jumped a curb, and drove at the officers. Fearing that the driver could run them over, the officers shot the man. San Antonio Police Department is so concerned about the negative publicity and liability that it conducts two separate reviews on the shooting details.

This is the second shooting in downtown San Antonio at a well-attended public event. Downtown businesses are concerned after this fatal weekend shooting in downtown San Antonio. Criminals do not seem afraid of witnesses or the police or being prosecuted by the District Attorney.
