San Antonio Violent Crimes Nov. 4-10, 2024

During the seven days of Monday, Nov. 4 to Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, there were ten shootings and stabbings reported in San Antonio’s local news media. Seven were shootings, three stabbings, eight persons wounded, and two persons killed. The incidents reported occurred all over the city. Please keep in mind that not all violent crimes are reported to police or by the news media.

Monday, Nov. 4 – A man was wounded and hospitalized after being shot at a South Side shopping center. The shooting happened just after 11 a.m. Monday at a shopping center off Goliad Road near Southeast Military Drive.

Tuesday, Nov. 5 – A road rage incident sparked a shooting at an apartment complex on the northeast side. The shooting happened just before midnight Tuesday night at the Amber Hill apartments. Police say a man was shot four times but still managed to get to a Circle K on Evers Road to get help. The shooter ran into an apartment, but police say he later drove away in a BMW convertible.

Wednesday, Nov. 6 – One person is in the hospital after an argument with a neighbor led to a shooting. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. near Showden and Babcock Rd. on the northwest side. According to the San Antonio Police Department, two people were arguing when one of them shot the other one in the leg. The person was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Thursday, Nov. 7 – The San Antonio Police Department has released the identity of a suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting last week on the South Side. The incident happened at 12:15 a.m. Thursday at the Padre Drive and Napier Avenue intersection. SAPD Officer Oscar Espino recognized a suspect vehicle as one that fled from officers earlier that day during a traffic stop. As Officer Espino was conducting another traffic stop, the suspect lowered the driver-side window and pointed a firearm outside the window toward the officer. Officer Espino fired his service weapon multiple times and struck the suspect in the shoulder.

Thursday. Nov. 7 – A man was stabbed after a physical fight broke out between a group of men on the southwest side Thursday night around 11:40 p.m. SAPD was called to the 2100 block of S. Zarzamora Street for a cutting in progress. Upon arrival, officers found a 36-year-old man bleeding from his upper body, officials say. Police say the man got into an argument with a group of men, which ultimately turned into a physical fight. During the fight, one of the men cut the man on the arm.

Thursday, Nov. 7 – A man was shot after an altercation broke out on the northwest side late Thursday night, according to San Antonio Police. Authorities responded to a shooting in progress at W Poplar Street and Northwest 24th Street around 10:20 p.m. Officers could not find a victim or crime scene but were eventually notified by hospital officials that a 19-year-old man had arrived with apparent gunshot wounds, according to SAPD.

Friday, Nov. 8 – A woman was shot and killed Friday night while driving on the Northeast Side. First responders were dispatched to the scene just before 9:30 p.m. near Interstate 35 and Rittiman Road. A woman, who SAPD officers said was 31 years old, was shot in the head while driving. After the shooting, police said the woman’s vehicle rolled over before coming to a stop.

Saturday, Nov. 9 – A man is in custody after police said he shot and killed his girlfriend’s father outside a North Side restaurant. Franco Xavier Summers, 33, was charged with murder in the shooting death of 43-year-old Christopher Fuentes. The deadly shooting happened just after midnight outside the Taco Palenque off Blanco Road near North Loop 1604 West.

Sunday, Nov. 10 – A man was stabbed in the neck, then tried to carjack another man in downtown San Antonio early Sunday morning. It happened just after midnight in the 300 block of East Travis Street near Navarro Street. The man was taken to BAMC for his injuries.

Sunday, Nov. 10 – A victim told police he was jumped by multiple suspects and cut with a broken beer bottle early Sunday morning on the northwest side of town. Police were dispatched around 3 a.m. to the 7100 block of Oaklawn Drive near Fredericksburg Road for reports of a disturbance with a gun. When police arrived at the scene, the 23-year-old victim told officers he was jumped by six to 12 people, one of whom cut him with a broken beer bottle.
